Paris Fashion Week 2014 Review: Louis Vuitton

Salut!  The fashion world has been waiting with bated breath for the Louis Vuitton show, with Nicolas Ghesquière at the helm, and it was definitely something special to witness the new beginning of the classic brand.  The new collection was absolutely stunning and one of the highlights of the week.  We say goodbye to the grand Marc Jacobs era and welcome the starting over of the house.  There are definitely some noticeable changes with the new creative director, for example, instead of the opulent sets we were so used to from Marc Jacobs, we witnessed a natural, minimalistic set with fewer guests from Ghesquière.  The collection itself was girlish and youthful, yet sophisticated.  The sophisticated air came from the rich fabrics, thick wool, crocodile, printed moleskin, and more.  But the girlishness came from the recurring A-line silhouette.  The colour palette included tones of cognac, beige and teal, with brighter pops of colour throughout the pieces.  There were many pieces that were so unique, they are bound to inspire a large number of designers.

I cannot wait to see more of the new direction the brand is taking, under the wise and talented hand of Nicolas Ghesquière.  I truly found this collection thrilling.

It’s the last day of Paris Fashion Week and it’s time to say our final goodbyes until next season! It’s been a hell of a week, as well as a month of fashion weeks, and we’ve seen some incredible collections, and wonderful new trends that I hope to see soon.

Au revoir ma belle,
